How to record a Yandex Telemost meeting and get a transcript

Telemost has two kinds of accounts. A personal account can record a meeting to a video file on your computer, with no transcript. A business account on a paid Yandex 360 plan also records to Yandex Disk and has the AI summary with a full transcript. If Telemost gives you no transcript or you need the text right after the call, record the meeting in Svod: the audio is recorded and transcribed on your computer, with no bot in the call.

Which account you have

• Personal account: a regular Yandex ID such as login@yandex.ru. Telemost is free to use with it. Yandex help describes recording to Yandex Disk and the AI summary only for business plans, and the AI summary is explicitly unavailable to personal accounts. So a personal account keeps recording to your computer;
• Business account: an account on your organization's domain in Yandex 360 for Business, such as login@company.ru. Recording to Yandex Disk and the AI summary are available on paid plans: Minimal, Basic and above.

Personal account: recording to your computer

Any participant can record a meeting unless the organizer has turned recording off. The file is saved on the computer of whoever started the recording.

1. Join the meeting in a browser (except Firefox) or the Telemost desktop app;
2. During the call, click ⋯ and choose Записать на компьютер (Record to computer);
3. To stop, hover over Запись (Recording) and click Остановить (Stop);
4. Find the video file on your computer: its name contains «Запись встречи» (Meeting recording), the date and the time.

Good to know

• All participants see a notice that recording has started;
• Recording stops if the person who started it leaves the call or closes Telemost;
• You get a video with no text: a personal account has no transcripts.

How to get a transcript. Record the meeting in Svod or import the Telemost video into it. Svod transcribes the recording on your computer and splits the text by speaker. It makes a summary when you ask.

Business account: recording to Yandex Disk and the AI summary

Both are turned on from an account on the organization's domain. Recording to a computer works the same as in a personal account.

Recording to Yandex Disk

1. During the call, click ⋯ and choose Записать на Яндекс Диск (Record to Yandex Disk). Participants see a notice;
2. To stop, hover over Запись (Recording) and click Остановить (Stop). Recording also stops when the last participant leaves the call;
3. The recording goes to the organizer's Disk, whoever started it. The link arrives by email and in the meeting chat, and processing takes up to 24 hours.

If the organizer's Disk is full, there are 3 days to free up space, then the recording is deleted.

AI summary

1. During the call, click the AI summary button. By default the organizer or a co-organizer can do this, and participants see a notice;
2. To stop, hover over Идет конспект (Summary in progress) and click Остановить (Stop). The summary also stops when the last participant leaves the call;
3. After the call an email arrives with a short recap of the topics, the tasks and the full transcript attached. Processing can take up to 24 hours.

By default the email goes to the organizer and co-organizers. To send it to all participants, click ⋯ during the call, choose Права участников (Participant permissions) and turn on Получать конспект звонка на почту (Get the call summary by email). Guests from other organizations don't get the summary.

What Svod adds to a business account. Svod transcribes the recording on your computer: an hour of audio takes about 2 minutes on a Mac with an M3 Pro. How to record and transcribe a meeting with Svod

Svod is an app for macOS and Windows. It records the meeting audio and your microphone right on your computer. No bot joins the call, and nothing needs to be set up in Telemost. It works with any Telemost account, personal or work.

1. Download and install Svod. On first launch, allow access to the microphone and to meeting sound;
2. Start the Telemost meeting as usual, in the browser or the app;
3. In Svod, click Start recording;
4. After the call, click Stop and transcribe. Svod transcribes the recording on your computer and splits the text by speaker.

Summaries and the agent run on a cloud model in Russia. Text goes to the cloud only when you ask for a summary or ask the agent a question. Audio is never sent, and the text isn't kept on the server after the answer.

On the free plan, recording and transcription are unlimited.

Already have a Telemost recording or summary

Svod keeps all your meetings in one base on your computer, even the ones recorded elsewhere.

• A Telemost video. In Svod, click Import file and choose the meeting recording. Svod transcribes it on your computer and splits the text by speaker;
• An AI summary from the email. Save the summary or transcript text to a .txt or .md file and import it the same way. It appears in the base as a note;
• Search and the agent work across the whole base. For example, ask «what did we decide about the budget?» and the agent finds the answer in every meeting.

Tell participants you're recording

Telemost's built-in recording and AI summary show participants a notice. Svod works on your computer and notifies no one, so at the start of the meeting say that you're recording and ask whether participants agree.

After your first recording, open it and check that both you and the other participants can be heard. If their voices are missing, check the meeting sound permission in Svod's settings.

Other platforms and in-person meetings

Svod records the audio your computer plays, so it works for any call on your computer, for example in Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Kontur.Talk or SberJazz. At an in-person meeting, Svod records the conversation through your laptop's microphone.
